Sorry to hear you are having another bad day. You might benefit from Burns, "Feeling Good Handbook". It helps you look at things in a brighter fashion, if you do he exercises and take it seriously. No, it won't cure a depression overnight, but it can help you shape your view of the world better, more rationally.

Yeah, I agree, 80 percent of the people may be morons. But they all probably have few good points too. And that leaves 20 percent who aren't--if you can relate to some of them for friendships, etc. your life can be enjoyable.

As for not liking yourself, I struggle with that at times too. I save some things I've done when I was feeling better to remind myself in some ways I am OK. I try to comfort myself with something I enjoy when I'm low. Tonight, I'm going to follow Elley's lead and get myself a piece of cake!

Hope yo find something that works for you!

You can't, you have to surround yourself with people or someone who likes you...even if you don't believe it and they tell you they do it does have some impact. if you are with someone and your depressed and they say "you are worthless" you will sink even deeper and have 'bad thoughts' but if you are with someone and depressed and they tell you "you are worth so much ect..." you will peobably just stay in the mood you are in if not poss a smidge better....so when we are alone and depressed it's like having that person whispering mean things to you because we are only thinking of negative and we bring ourselves down.....we need someone in a positive mood...even if it doesn't help much at least it won't make things worse....personally i don't need a human...just my dog.

You're right. Smilies, emoticons, symbols, pictures can all bear much meaning, and artfully do so.

Hey aries.

We all like attention sometimes, particularly if we haven't been getting enough of it in the past. It's hard wired in us to want (and need) attention. "Talk to me! Appreciate me! Like me! Spend time with me! Look at me! Notice me! Love me!!" Funny how the human needs we all have are often the hardest to fulfill. You'd think between all of us humans, we'd be able to get something worked out, right?

How was your day today? I hope you are feeling better and that the next time you post emoticons, they smile a little more often. Takes more muscles to frown, you know, and who has that kind of energy? (Children and border collies, thats who. Ironically child frowns are very flexible and turn right side up with a little tickling and border collies don't typically frown. It's us grumpy tired people who do most of the frowning, which doesn't seem to make much sense.)

I hope you keep getting the attention you want, need and deserve, aries!
