So today i learned from my mom that she thinks my dad is cheating on her. She met with an old collegue of my dad while she was at work. He told her about my dad and his cheating. 2 years ago, my dad left our family to go to Las Vegas. He told us that it was because he had to earn more money there. So our family believed him. But today the collegue of my dad told my mom that. My dad left us to go with a woman to Las Vegas. He said that he was on the phone and said How could you leave your family for a woman? Are you crazy? And my dad replied "What can i do? I like her" and he left. And this man asked my mom for his contact because they have lost touch in 6 months. I am not the most charming kid. I'm 14. And i'm a big guy. My dad always says to lose weight. And he i trusted him. I'm not good at sharing my feelings, but i want to talk about this with someone. Our house is not financially safe. My mom works long hours at work. My dad barely provides for us. Recently no one has been able to contact his phone. I trusted my dad. I was accepted into a high school with the ability to be in a medical program because i want to be a doctor. but i gave that up for a public school because we have no money. Mean while my dad lives in vegas with a woman we don't know. WHAT DO I DO.... please.. help me. i want to scream and cry. we are supposed to be moving houses next week but my dad is not even answering his phone

I'm so sorry John.
![]() ![]() I do think it's very unfair for your Dad to be unavailable. He should keep his phone on and working so you can contact him. It's possible this is just a mid-life crisis he's going thru. Maybe it will all blow over soon. But in the meantime, I know how hurt you are -- and your poor mother too!!! Can you talk with a school counselor? I don't know if you've gone back to school after summer recess, but the school counselors are always available -- and I'm sure they could help you with this. They would be more than willing to speak with you, I'm sure. You need someone to talk to. ![]() Many kids think that they are to blame when this kind of thing happens, but I hope you know that it has NOTHING to do with YOU. So if you've had any of those kinds of thoughts -- toss them out! God bless & please take care. You sound like a very nice person. Hugs, Lee ![]() |
