When you're depressed what do you feel in your head or body? I've been struggling horribly for a couple of weeks and it feels to me like I'm increasingly stuffed with cotton wool or some sort of fog or some other foreign substance and less thought and humanity. Am I similar to others in this?

Hi Vertigo,
I'm so sorry to hear you have been going through a tough time. ![]() I have often heard others describe depression this way. Someone once described to me a feeling of having cotton in their ears so that everything seemed tinny, distant and hard to hear. For me, the feeling of depression at its worst is of having a broken heart, but I have anxiety too that resonates in my chest. Sending supportive thoughts your way. Has medication been able to help at all? Elana

Hard to hear, that's another thing though I thought I was just lost in thought and not paying close attention. meds have never seemed to work well.
