My hermana (sister) has been here (in the state I live in) for the past 3 months (since mid-June) and I got to see her 2 other times (the first was for 2 hours and the second time was probably for an hour) and today's visit is the last one and that was probably for 10 to 15 minutes. She's leaving on Wednesday to go back home and I'm having a hard time right now. I've been crying on and off for the past several hours. I'll be fine one minute and then something will remind me of her and then I'll start crying all over again. I don't know if she and my cousin will come back to Maine for Christmas this year like they did last year or not. So, I might not be seeing her until next summer.

I can relate somewhat as all of my family lives in another state and I don't get to see them that much. It is very hard having to say good-bye after a visit. Have you told your sister how you are feeling? Do you guys get to talk on the phone or anything when she is back home?

I can relate too. My family lives on the other side of the (small) country and I only see them twice a year or so. Now I don't mind it that much, but it would've been better if I had a better relationship with them. I can tell from your post tha tyou miss your ssiter and like here. I'm so sorry you can't be with he rmor eoften.

Hey Kaitlyn, I understand how you're feeling. It's great that you and your sister are so close. Both my siblings live far off too (i.e. in another country). We check in with each other by phone regularly and whip out the webcams to see each other when we need to. It's not the same as having them in person, but the technology certainly helps a bit. Maybe you can use it to help soothe away some of the sadness you're experiencing now.

PS: I'm also always on the look out for cheaper overseas calling plans so I can talk longer for less money. I can't afford to travel; so I do what I can to work around my situation. Hope I'm giving you some useful ideas.

My sister and I are actually cousins by marriage and best friends.....she's the one person who totally understands me and can pull me out of a freak out within seconds. I live on the East Coast of the USA and she and my cousin live on the West Coast.
