I am a 20 year old adult, and have only been out of high school for a mere year. And it shocks me to find the world in the state it is currently in when none of this is nessicary or logical. I find myself often wondering why it is people cling to centurys old ideas that no longer hold prevently in the modern day. Ideas such as capitalism, religion, elitism, all of which only serve to blind us from our true purpose in life, the betterment of our species as a whole, and the pursuit of Knowledge. It often puzzles me that individuals twice or even three times my age can not grasp even the simplest of logical ideas. Nor can the Drugged up, indoctrinated, and simply ignorant of my own Generation.

I find myself angry at the world around me as i am forced into working with in this en-efficient system. Not allowing me to pursue my true goals in life. I am being forced into the job market and forced to work as a corporate slave in a never ending stream of Debt and ignorance. I dream of a future where mankind is free from it's current slavery, And a day when we can finally break out of these boundaries and explore the stars.

I know that at this point i am nothing more then an angry young adult, haveing lost my current job, and everything else around me slowly falling apart. I find myself angry at alot of this, and also feel that sitting around and "waiting" for a better future is such a horrible idea. I've done my share of getting the word out, as i am an extreamly charismatic person, and have told countless numbers of people time and time again about a better future for all of mankind, not just the rich. Over the past 5 years i've dedicated my time to studying and learning all of the subjects at hand, in a hope to one day be a true expert.

And after all of this, forgive me for being long winded, i have but one question: What is a young man like myself to do? Where as i consider myself an intelligent and enlightened young man, i am not from a well-off family and there for do not have the funds to do anything with my intelligence. I do dream of being a Theoretical physicist, or anything in the fields of physics, cosmology, sociology, or psychology. But alas, my social status will not allow this. With a collapsing job market, and to be honest the lack of will in this area, finding a normal mundane job is becoming increasingly harder. I am simply out of ideas and would give anything to live in a better world were i could pursue the knowledge i so greatly crave.
Thanks for this!

Mmmmmm. Yup, Lucient. How to start life when you're twenty is a complex, mind-bending, confusing project. And I'm not at all pulling your leg or making fun of you. Don't be shocked at the state of the world. It's always been this way. Seriously. There is NO time in the past when the world has not appeared to be entirely crazy to someone twenty years old. I would urge you to give up trying to make sense of such nonsense as capitalism, religion, elitism or anything of the kind. And as for those twice or three times your age, you ought to be more interested in their ideas and attitudes, however crazy they may seem. Those people have been in the world much longer than you have. They very well may have learned something you haven't yet learned, and should learn. It may be crazy, it may be stupid, it may be disgusting, but you don't have to agree with it, though you really should find out what it is.

Ummm, Lucient, you're twenty years old. You don't even KNOW yet your "true goals in life." No kidding. You ain't there yet. And as far as being a corporate slave, the first thing you need to do is find out how and where to be a corporate slave with a good salary. It really doesn't have to be a never ending stream of debt and ignorance. But you do have to pay for food and lodging. As far as concerns that future where mankind is free from slavery, I'll tell you frankly, that won't happen. No kidding, it really won't. The choice is between relatively well-paid slavery and poorly paid slavery. Seriously. If you can wangle your way into relatively well-paid slavery you'll be doing well. Really. No kidding. If you can get beyond that with a start-up of your own and an IPO and money in the bank, fantastic. But most of us don't get past well-paid slavery. And I'll tell ya, it's not that bad!

Friend, lower your sights. The probability is that you're not going to luck out and leap over the obstacles that face everyone else. Don't worry, there are very significant advantages in having to go through the same obstacle course that everyone else faces. You learn things that way. Important things. There are no easy ways out. There's nothing anyone here on PC can tell you that will magically transform your task into something both easier and better at the same time. No. The job market is tough. No question. Despite that toughness, you need to do what you can to get a decent job, putting everything else aside. That's your real test. You're by no means the first who has gone through that and you'll not be the last. This includes your great-grandfather and everyone since. Life doesn't really change that much over the generations. Take care!

You are a very intelligent man, facing the realities of life.

Ygrec is so wise ~ beyond his years! Unbelievably true that each generation is amazed by the incredible debts the nations have against each other. So never-ending! I wish that we could fix this stuff already. Decades of suffering all over the world! It's disheartening to think about this misery continuing, but it will.

It's human nature. We have different values, different beliefs, different ideals of life. A very sad reality to finally realize in life. perhaps something that schools should prepare us for, as we're growing up. Accepting life the way that is now will save you a lot of lost sleep and fears. Some people are resistant to accepting the world the way that it is, and stand out as philanthropists. Others go into psychology, to help people work through their emotions in life. A few easily accept the world, in it's harsh brutality, and pay attention to the simple things in their lives that they feel that they can control. As you continue to grow, you'll figure out what works for you (and what doesn't).

Very best wishes to you ~ welcome to PC

Yeah it is a messed up world. While I don't really have a spritiual side anymore, I still believe that all the problems are sign of "the end of the times." Humans are incapable of self-rule.

Anyway, I think you have great aspirations. Of course they may change in time. I know mine did. Unfortunately most of do have to work "regular" jobs to get by. BUT that doesn't mean that we can't soar to the sky on our own time and study or work through whatever we want.

I'm sure there are groups out there of people who are as intellectual as you are that may like to talk about similar ideas. At the very least, I hope you are an avid reader and check out books on all the subjects that interest you.

You've gotten some excellent advice. It's rough being young with high ideals -- I was there once myself.

You say you want to get into physics, cosmology, etc.. Why not apply for grants and go to college? You'd have an excellent chance of achieving your dreams if you had a degree.

Yes, the world is crazy -- but it's also very exciting. It all depends on how you look at it. I wish you the very best. Take care & God bless. Hugs, Lee
