I am a new member having searched for several days for a support group for depression. I have just come home from the second time in one month from the hospital. My meds have been change twice also. I have major depression disorder with recurrance and what to be in touch with others who have depression disorders too. I wasn't always like this, I've had major issues on my plate lately. A husband with Lung Cancer (now in remission), the lost of both parents, a sister-in-law, and best friend, and three daughters age 21,20 and 18 two of which give me tremendous trouble, all this in the last 3 years. My job was my only salvation however, that has changed adding significant stress to put me over the edge. That's my story in a nutshell and I'm hoping for new suggestions to get me through this. Thanks

Welcome to the site, Stickney = I hope you will keep posting; it helps to have people who understand about depression to talk to.

It sounds like you have had some really major life events going on - tis no wonder that you are feeling stressed and that the depression may have resurfaced. I'm sure sorry for your losses, also = that kind of grief can really jumble everything up for a good while, I know.

Keep coming here, OK, so we can get to know you better, and you us. Also, you may want to post in the general section, so that others who do not visit the depression forum can meet you also.

Best regards, Peanut

Welcome to the group, stickney5. You've definitely come to the right place. I'm sorry that things are going so badly for your family and at work. Those are very tough issues to deal with, even if you weren't already suffering from a major depressive disorder.

I just came here about a month ago, and I've found that these are just about the most caring, supportive and understanding people that you could ever come across.

Hello & Welcome
I too am some what of a new member. you'll come to see how so very nice everyone is. Sorry to hear about your husband, hope all is well and gets better. I was on Meds for the past Two -1/2 yrs for my PTSD. not that I would be a great example but I'v also switched 12 diffrent times. My thoughts aren't very well balanced without them. but day by day I find myself ok. I DON'T recommend you coming off them b/c there are many risks behind not being on them. they do work. the Doc just has to find the right one for you because everyone is diffrent. as far as your family goes if they are not understanding towards what you are going threw which is alot remmber you have Us!
Expecially PEANUT isn't he sooooooooooooooo cute.
well if ya need a friend to talk too I'm here. I too was in search for a site were people would be able to understand me and my depression your in the right place. keep your head up...
I'm still in search for me and I have a long way to go.
your friend DuChEsS*

Welcome Stickney New member

You have found a terrific group here. You have a lot on your plate right now and it will help you to find support for everything that you are going through. Hopefully you have a good doctor too who is helping you through this as well.

Keep posting so we can get to know more about you.

Take care.
