I began falling into depression about 6 weeks ago. I went off meds about 1 1/2 years ago. I went back to my psychotherapist and am seeing a psychiatrist as well. I'm back on meds and have been for 2 weeks.
Today is a really bad day. I did go out and do errands but felt a sense of dread the whole time. I don't want to be around anyone. I'm not enjoying anything anymore.
Any suggestions? How long until the meds kick in and I feel better? What can I do? I feel like crawling in a hole and not coming out. What should I do?

Hello & Welcome, Cornercurio! You are no stranger to depression and meds.

In your past experience, did anything help you cope while the meds where building in your system?

As far as possible, grant yourself permission to feel bad and to adjust your priorities for those feelings. Please keep posting.

Idon't remember since I started meds about 9 years ago and stopped about 1 1/2 years ago.

Thank you for the advice about granting permission!
