I fall asleep ok but then wakeup and can't go back to sleep. Any suggestions? I'm barely functional and really want to get better. I have 3 meds to sleep but not of them keep me asleep. I'm at wits end and so tired. What else can I do? Please help me!

Not sure what you are taking. I take trazodone and temazepam. Always ask a doctor to see if yours meds mix or not. These put me out like a light for 8 -12 hours. Some times I do wake up earlier and have to stay awake but most of the time I can sleep again.

this is what helps me-do exercise of any kind during the day...even a long walk. once asleep, then waking up, try to fall back to sleep. if 30 minutes later you're still awake, get up for awhile and do something quietly, like reading. try to go back to sleep after that. if that doesn't work, my T said get up!

Are you eating anything right before you go to bed? I sometimes like to nibble just before I fall asleep, and then a while later the sugar kicks in and I am wide awake.

Yes I do since one of the sleep meds I take has to be with food. I'll make it low sugar. Thank you!

Thank you for the advice. I'm going out for a walk this afternoon even if I have to force myself! I'll also take your advice about getting up and doing something quietly; I haven't tried that. Thanks!
