Found out today our food stamps were canceled...crying a bunch...having that terrible burning feeling inside, in my stomach, heart, and shoulders: very frustrated and feeling hopeless...and hungry. Yesterday I was doing pretty good...and thinking maybe I could finally work my way out of the rut...and now this. I have lots of dietary restrictions for my kidney & digestive problems, and I was trying to also treat my hypoglycemia/depression/mania with a healthy diet...but I can't afford to now.
Every Fu€K!ng Time! I start working my way out of the pit, and the Big Bad World comes along to kick my *** back in there. A round kick to the head this one. Really? Why? Not meant for this world, can't handle it, should've taken care of it for good back in 7th grade...thank god we don't have a gun. I wil survive today. I'm too stubborn to give up now....but I don't know how to handle this pain and hopeless rage...I feel like a supernova...here comes the black hole! |

Sorry about the disappointing news, but don't give up or give in. When state/tax-funded programs get depleted, you still have a lot of options and resources available to you.
Go online and search for "food banks" in your area - most of them have websites that will tell you of their procedures and present availability. So many are struggling to keep up with the extra need in our present economy, but you are not going to starve. Start calling: Goodwill, Salvation Army, St. Vincent de Paul, Catholic Charities, United Way, Lighthouse, etc. Also, many churches maintain "pantries" to help provide food for those in need. Take a look at "Angel Ministries" website - it's like a virtual food co-op - orders are batched and submitted every couple of weeks or so, then sent to your local distributor who establishes a convenient pick-up point for everyone. You can get bulk food for incredibly low prices - no overhead needed for a physical structure. Explore Amazon.com's Subscribe & Save program and store. Again, you can get incredibly low prices and gradually stock your own pantry. This Big Bad World is as it is because most humans choose to make it so and/or let it be so; "competitive" is just how the greedy and power-hungry justify abusing the rest of the world and humanity to serve their personal self-interests. And, it is going to remain this way until enough human beings choose to make it otherwise. Whether or not "They" care is not nearly as important as whether or not YOU care. You can't control what "They" do - only what you do. You have access to the internet, a telephone, transportation? Then use what you DO have to do the research - compile the information - distribute it and make it available to others suffering in similar circumstances. Pass it on and by doing so, you will help change the world for the better. Hoping for better days for you soon. ![]()
