I know I don't have long to go, but it's been a terrible weekend. I recently took a leave of absence from work to help me get better faster and I'm currently in an intensive outpatient program. I started the Thursday before last and the two weekends have been hard. I finally started opening up in group on Wednesday after starting a mood stabilizer and upping my dosage of effexor to 75 mg. I've had a hard time even getting out of bed but I'm staying with my mother who made me get up a few times. I've been in excruciating pain when I get up. Any recommendations on how I can make it through next weekend? I've been on antidepressants since April 5th. I'm starting to begin to think I have treatment resistant depression.

If you're in pain, perhaps contacting a doctor (especially the prescribing doctor who gave you the effexor and mood stabilizer) would be a wise idea? I've been on Effexor and it can have some very intense side effects when you're going on them but it shouldn't cause you pain.

I've been in pain long before I started the Effexor. It was just intensified when getting out of bed. Like my body was telling me that was the only place it wanted to be. I've told my primary doctor and she believes I have fibromyalgia although all of my therapist and psychiatrist believe it's all somatic symptoms.

Hello, PrinterGirl73! When you have the time, focus and energy, would you comment on your outpatient program? Has it helped you at all? How are you doing now?

I have been in pain before when dealing with extreme anxiety and panic attacks that lasted a month I'm guessing it was because I was so tense all the time and not getting enough sleep. Also being in bed and not moving a lot can also cause pain. I would get tested for the fibromyalgia to be sure. I would suggest exercise but I know that is easier said than done. Keep your head up. I hope things are moving forward for you.
