I know this sounds bad, but seriously, Ive been taking prozac (argh I dont even wanna capitalize it)(for my OCD/Severe Depression) for like a few months and I stopped taking it completely. Now its a couple months later, and I still aint got any Soul. Depression to me is my emotions, my feelings and I cant even pick up a guitar or a harmonica anymore. I heard somewhere that it takes your brain like a few months to recover from the medicine and for your brain to rebalance, but I cant even feel bad to feel bad. Can anyone tell me when prozac completely expires and for your brain to completely rebalance? Please i cant take it any longer.

Hi there,

Did you doctor take you off prozac after only two months? I am certain it is out of your system by now, but I have heard that depression can rebound after going off of it sometimes. I would check this out with your doctor.

It has been like 4 months or so. The effects of the medicine are still very presently felt.

Blue Poppy is right.....these kinds of questions should be directed to your doctor. I do hope you didn't discontinue the medication without his ~her knowledge, as this can cause a lot of problems at times. I also find it confusing that they would only keep you on it for such a short time, unless you were having severe side effects. Good luck with everything.
