It is so scary when you start your journey to recovery, my thoughts are with you and please please don't convince yourself not to go. The sooner you start your journey the better i think

Happy to hear that you're reaching out for the help you deserve. As to why you're trying to talk yourself out of it, please try to remember that depression can tend to distort your thinking, and I believe we need to try and ignore the voice of the demon.....because he could care less about us. But no matter how much it may feel that way at times, he is NOT us. Wishing you all the best at your first session..... ~whimsy "Faith is taking the first step when you don't see the whole staircase." First appointment

I was embarrassed and scared to seek help at first. This might be why your hesitant to go. Now I wish my parents had helped get me to see someone when I was a kid. I would of been dead if I didn't seek help. It's such a relief, my first session I was so nervous and I cried uncontrollably. But it has helped so much. Give it a shot, it's confidential so you don't have to worry about anyone else finding anything out.

Hi All,
I just wanted to say a big thank you to you all for your kind words and support and to let you know I did go and it was with all your help.
My appointment went well I think I cried through most of it but I know its the first step and Im so glad I done it and im going to keep at it I know I need to keep talking as its not working keeping everything to myself.

Im going to try and take a day at a time and focus on me now...not the past or the future just this moment in time.

Again thank you so much everyone...Take care and I'll keep you posted xxx

Great to hear it went well ladydove! You are doing such a great job, the first session is so hard. Keep us up to date on how you are doing, sometimes it helps to be able to talk to someone between sessions.
