I know we all have them. They are there and we hate them. Some are past memories twisted. Others are things that are worries of the future. so i am just asking you guys, what are your negative thoughts. how does your brain work if you do not mind me asking.

My negative thoughts deals with me killing myself in many different ways. They're there every day and constantly beating me down. They're steady for most of the times but sometimes they get powerful and overwhelming.

My negative thoughts are criticisms, self-criticisms, and generally being frustrated when things don't turn out the way I want.

We do have power over our thoughts. We can change them. I recently said the brain is like a muscle, not a circuit. We aren't wired, we build muscles. We can build the negative muscles (neuron pathways if you know some anatomy) and we really like to use the muscles that are strong. We're good with them. But they don't always help us and we've got to break the muscle memory and build some new ones sometimes.

I'm trying to build my rationality and build my patience, curiosity, and reading ability. I've lived in intrapersonal negativity for quite some time and it's no fun for me or those around me. If we can see our negativity and the thoughts that don't help us and think rationally about them, think about cause and effect, we can throw away our negativity when it does not aid us and start to build muscles that will help us.

It's about realizing what we are thinking, recognizing our thought processes and consciously changing them. It's not a one day thing and we are never perfect. We do things unconsciously all the time and the challenge we face is finding out what we are doing that is harming us.

It is well known that the brain changes throughout our lives and it becomes habituated to certain trains of thoughts that are also realized as physical changes in our brain cells. This is called neuroplasticity. So we have to work on our brains, we have to start doing the things we want to do and those cells will become stronger as the ones we don't want degenerate.

I really don't know. That digs deep into the imagination, what is it, how does it work, etc... It's the pitfall of having the brilliant vivid imaginations we have.

I know I have found delusions that made me completely disconnected from reality, and there's also the more common feelings that we are awful and rejected which are untrue more often than not.

The mind is very beautiful, strong, and also very strange.

Im so deep in it I cant tell the difference between negative and positive. I just see it all as truth and when i try to tell myself different i feel like i am just telling myself lies.

My negative thoughts are always about not having my things organized, about forgeting things, about getting hurt or hurting myself, asfixia, dangerous things that could happen, scary things, but the most negative thought is not having a reason to live, as much as i think of something i dont find a reason

Basically, look at what you know about the world and other people. If what you are telling yourself contradicts with that, one or both of those ideas is irrational.

Example:
If you think people should all be treated well, its irrational to think you shouldn't treat yourself well. If people should be treated well and you are a person, you should treat yourself well, too.

Rationality is a bigger idea than this, this is just the example. I was having a tough time explaining it, my mind is cloudy.

When we are depressed we look only at the dark side of our life.Just shift your gaze to look at the larger picture, there must be some redeeming factors too. This will lessen the burden of negative thoughts on your mind.
You could look up this post,it will help you
