I am so alone, I hate the holidays and they are asking for more info, I can't do this!!!! I was a social worker and trying to carry on with this is insane.
I go to work sometimes 2 to 4 hours early just to cope. Is this a joke? Because if it is stop!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I can no longer feel the isolation!!!! There are no smiley faces or whatever, what are you people doing???? You don't get it! It is crazy and it is hopeless, you just don't get it!!!!!!

How can we help? I have a really rough time with the holidays too. They remind me that I don't belong anywhere and never will, and how alone I am. Putting your energy into something that helps someone else is a good way to cope. Or get involved in something. When I run out of things to do, I just try to stay out of the way and be invisible, and that makes me miserable.

Have to agree with Rapunzel on this one. I'd try to focus that energy somewhere else until the holidays pass.

I see you are or were in social work so youre probably use to always giving to others and little reciprocation. Here's an idea, be shellfish this holiday. Do something for no other person than yourself. Buy yourself something expensive or maybe go somewhere you've always wanted to go.

Also just remember that there are plenty of others around you that most ko likely feel the same way. People have a real good way of faking it to get by. If you notice someone by him or herself at church or work or even your favorite coffee shop, take a chance and say hello. Loneliness is best experienced with others. ;-)
