Had them everyday of this month.

I want to change my meds (I am taking 75mg Effexor once a day I split it in half take half in the morning, half at night) as I feel it is not really doing much for me, maybe I have become immune to it? This is my 7th year taking it.

I don't want one that makes you gain weight.

Which one helps to suppress appetite?

Hi ~ My gosh, if you've been on that medication for 7 years, no doubt you've accomodated to it. Ask your doctor about another similar medication that would work for you, but doesn't make you gain weight. Personally i don't know of one.

As for suicide thoughts, remember that suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem! Things won't always be this way. Things ALWAYS change. So try to rid yourself of these thought, PLEASE? You are a vital human being! People would be devastated if something happened to you! You may not think so, but it's TRUE! And if you're concerned about your weight, you REALLY don't want to die, correct???

Please let us (me) know what your doctor says about your medication, will you? I'd really like to know. God bless and please take care of yourself. Hugs, Lee

Thank you, but nothing changes overnight, and I am constantly battling this empty feeling.
Just sad, like everyone else is getting their life on, and here I am....nothing.

I am on Effexor, which is so hard to get off of, but I am wanting to get on something so I can start the process of weaning off of it, and perhaps get something else.

Is it okay to take two meds at the same time?

Obviously I will go to a doctor and ask and get the prescription and all that....

Hi Lagurl,

I switched to Effexor from Cipralex about 2 months ago and was taking them both at a small dosage as I moved towards Effexor. This is common practice, but some psychiatrists won't be ok with it, while others will. It depends on the combos and the dosages. But Effexor 75mg is a very low dosage, I was told recently by my therapist that 150mg is the minimum therapeutic dosage and 225mg was the "normal" dosage for people with major depression.

Good luck, keep us posted!
