Hi, i've never told anyone what i'm about to say but i feel like i need to tell someone even if it's over the internet. Well as you can tell from my title, i have been suffering from depression for the last year, and over the past 2 months i have been trouble falling asleep, always feel like ****, and i literally have no appetite. I also had delayed puberty...I didn't hit it til my junior year in high school, and because of delayed puberty i developed social anxiety. Im currently 21 and don't have a job anymore, i stay at home everyday, i can't drive, i just have no life. Even at 21 i look really young and i could pass as a freshman or sophomore, so as you can expect is why i don't like going anywhere because of it. I would tell my mom and while she is the greatest... i know she would tell my whole family and i feel like it's not their business and they wouldn't understand what i'm going through. To be honest they would just say "suck it up" and probably make fun of me. So i hope you guys understand me and please any input on what to do will help. This actually feels good to actually say something.

Hi my friend -- I'm sorry you're feeling so lousy. Depression is awful. Believe me, I know. I've been depressed since I was a little girl, of about 4 or 5. I'm now 63 yrs old! So I've been depressed a long time.
![]() ![]() I think the best thing for you my friend, is to ask your parents to get you a referral for therapy. Your doctor can refer you to a good therapist. Your self-esteem right now is in the pits -- and that doesn't help matters. Being depressed with low self-esteem is really terrible, and you do need therapy to deal with this. So talk to your parents about getting into therapy. Are you still on their insurance? If not, they will have to pay for it since you're not working. ![]() I wish you the very best. we totally understand- and it can be so hard to get yourself out of
is their anything that you think... you know, i'd really like to do that? perhaps you can take little steps to something you really want to do- and if you can't think of anything, that's okay too... you could still do little activities daily (take a lil walk outside, clean a bit of the house, etc) |
