I'm not sure why but recently I have been so depressed that I have been finding it difficult to eat and on another occasion difficult to sleep.

There was a recent occasion when I went through some drama and I cried. I don't know why but it lasted for a very long time. Afterwards I found that my appetite was completely gone and that it was very difficult to go to sleep.
I think it was just anxiety or something because when I manage to calm myself a bit I can feel my appetite coming back. But every now and then I'll go back in the dumps and I get a feeling a fullness in my stomach and I can no longer eat.

This is a problem for obvious reasons but also since I am on a weight loss program. I have to be able to eat at certain times a day and get enough sleep at night or my body will be too wrecked to repair itself after workouts.

Does anyone have any advice on how to deal with this? I've never had this problem before.

Try fluids first. Gatorade? Once you can handle clear folds then try full fluids like milk or boost meal replacement.

Just sips at first then build on it as you handle the fluids.

Take care,

If you faint then it ' s the ER. Not enough fluids.

Thanks for the reply. It's nothing so serious that I need to go to the ER. I don't want to worry anyone. I'm just a bit out of it at the moment.

Hydration is the most important one of all ~ our bodies are completely dependent on water, so be sure that you're drinking a good amount of water every day. Some Gatorade here and there would be good, to get necessary salt.

From staying properly hydrated, try to push yourself to eat fruits, veggies, whole grains, dairy, and lean protein. Nibble on crackers (low in sodium) with tuna on top. Maybe an apple or pear with a couple of small cuts of cheese. Steamed vegetables are a big favorite of mine ~ doesn't need any butter or cheese to make it tasty, imo. Hard-boiled eggs, chicken breast tenders, pork chops, navy-bean and ham soup, good lean proteins. Yogurt and cottage cheese are up there as well, dairy and protein in one!

I hope that I've given you some helpful ideas ~ and haven't just bored you! Drink lots of water though!! Your body will do just fine without food for a couple of days. The hydration is a daily necessity.

Excellent suggestions, shezbut. NoCake, when I get upset and don't feel like eating I too find it easier to focus on really simple but healthy things, preferably finger foods as it's too difficult to organise or eat a full meal... all those thing shezbut suggested in little serves. I always feel much better after eating things like.
Thanks for this!
