Feel my life is sooo meaningless. Wish I could snap out of it and feel happy. What is happiness? How can I stop feeling soooo lonely? How can I give my life a purpose? weekends and evenings are the hardest...

Have you ever tried volunteering in your community? I used to volunteer at the community mental health organization in my city, where my dad works, and I always felt good helping out other people. Not only did it help distract me from things, i met some really nice people.

Thanks for the advice.
I recently moved to a new city so my family and close friends are very far. I like this city but don't know if I can cope with being so far. Feel like I can't cope with anything right now... I should try to volunteer or do more activities - I just have such low motivation right now. I keep cancelling plans - feel like I boycott myself from being happy. Feel very stuck! |

Hi there! Have you been diagnosed with depression, or are you being exceptionally blue right now? I agree, getting OUT and doing something will help... stop in at a restaurant and chat with the wait staff... or go to the libray and meet the workers there... and yes, volunteering to help others does help us feel better about ourselves.
Are you sleeping well? Eating right? Self care is important. I've lived many different places in my life, and no, it isn't easy while you're still a stranger. ![]()
