Hello everyone, Ive been having a bad few days in sucession and I just cant shake it off. I cant wake up tomorrow feeling the way I do. Everyday seems to be getting that little bit darker and stronger. Ive seen the pdoc and he has upped the lexapro again and on klonopin as well but its not working, and I seem to be banging my head off a brick wall. I have zero energy but did manage to go for a walk this morning. I used to go every day for the last 2 years but the last few months are very testing. When I am walking Im crying, I see people looking at me, and Im sick of being like thiis. Maybe nobody can help me. I feel so alone.

Well, you're NOT alone because here we know exactly how that feels. I sure as hell do. Zero energy is all too familiar for me. Like you, I try to push myself to walk and usually feel better when I do, but I tend to walk where no one is around to see me. Those times like yours when meds aren't working or haven't kicked in yet can be the worst. There definitely are people who can help. If you're not talking to a therapist, counselor or equivalent, then please look into that, hard as it might be. It has made a huge difference in my life and I have often felt JUST LIKE YOU ARE FEELING NOW. You're worth it, keep on working on it and it will get better. Peace... Alex.

Thanks for this!

Pierro--I too have been where you are and the meds, when they kick in, provide a lot of relief. And I agree with Alex--find a counselor or therapist who can support you and help you find a way back to the light.

Been there, never took meds though. Personally I think they only allow you to hide from the problem, rather than help actually overcome it/them. Try drawing or painting, something to express your anguish, when I get suicidal (though I'm not sure you're at that stage yet) I think doing something creative really helps, even if it only acts as a temporary distraction.

I wear sunglasses in the very rare times that I walk. Even when its not sunny. No one can judge you if they can't see you..

Sorry I can't offer support except to say I'm right there with you. Feeling very raw and close to the edge today.

Harry, I am curious: If you've never taken meds, what brings you to your conclusion? Their purpose is not to hide or mask anything -- rather it is hopefully to nudge you out of whatever poor situation for a bit so you can then feel able to do creative things, as you suggest, preferably while getting some talk therapy. At their best they are simply a jump start until you care enough to fully recharge your batteries.
