My name is Tammy and I'm bipolar, type 2 with depressive disorder. I struggle daily with the depression, trying not to let it get to me.

My doctor has me takingi Cymbalta for depression and Abilify for a mood stabilizer and they are working great for me. I tend to be hypo manic most of the time, which is better then bouncing off the walls, I guess. Still, I wish I had more energy.

I look forward to meeting new friends here. Have a blessed day.

Welcome to the forum! I'm glad you found us. I'm sorry that the reason we get a chance to meet you online is that you are suffering.

Depression can definately sap your energy. Its great that you and your Dr. have found a combination of medication to take some of you pain away. I think you will like it here. When I started coming to the forum, everyone was supportive and understood how I felt. Hopefully you will find the same feeling of belonging here as well.

Hi Tammy, welcome! You'll make lots of supportive friends here.

I was wondering, could you please describe what hypomania is like for you, if you're okay with that? I ask because I possibly have some form of bipolar and I'm trying to learn more about it.

Hi Tammy,

Welcome to PC. I'm also glad that the meds you're taking are providing you with some relief. Please don't hesitate to post here or elsewhere.
