I feel very irritated recently. Maybe it is because my condition is getting worst. What should i do? I am not taking medicine. How should i calm myself?

Do you have any experience with meditation? Maybe listen to some calming music or look at calming pictures for a quick fix.

I am still dealing with temper flashes in certain situations. What sort of things are triggering you? For me its feeling like more is expected of me than I can accommodate.

When you don't feel good physically, as in have the flu or some other physical illness, you probably feel irritable then as well. The only difference between a physical illness and an emotional illness is the part of you that hurts and feels awful. Actually, emotional illness can be even worse because you don't have any gauge to know when it will end. When you are physically ill, (most of the time), you usually have an idea about how long you should expect to feel bad.

As a society, we don't talk as openly about emotional and psychiatric things as perhaps we should. Those that are suffering wind up feeling alone with thier pain and there is no one who seems to understand what they are going through. There are certain things that we seem to be afraid of talking about for fear of being socially incorrect. Take someone in a wheelchair. How many times growning up did your parents tell you not to stare, or ask about why the person can't walk. In reality, the person in the wheelchair often has no problem telling people what has happened, and all we are doing by avoiding the subject is further isolating them. Emotional and psychiatric illness are right in there with things "you don't talk about".

Here people will understand. I know its not the same as someone being right there with you, but sometimes, its all we have.

Search for "diaphragmatic breathing" - breathing deeply and slowly, consciously employing the diaphragm. That technique may help you in some situations.

Hi kittycat,

yeah, learning some relaxation techniques is a great idea. taking a break during the day or before bed to do some deep breathing may help. do you see any professionals about your condition?

Try to relax your mind, and stop thinking for a little while. Enjoy a hot bath, exercising, or doing a craft. Try to do something to get everything off of your mind. Try to do some breathing exercises too.
Thanks for this!

Well, it is important to have a trusting relationship with your therapist, it's one of the keys to a goo therapeutic experience. Do you have other options right now? Can you ask them why they're sighing?
