Hi all
I have felt a bit down for a while, spending a lot of time in bed and just felt exhausted. I cant really find the energy to go out. My friend has recommended me to go outside for 30 minutes or something every day at a certain time. I don't really feel it will make a difference. Did anyone do this? Did it help? I have also started to keep a diary, even though I don't think it will change anything - everything is just the same. Thanks |

It is good to go outside -- I don't know if it matters what time you go out. And great on keeping a diary, because you NEED therapy. You need to have your doctor refer you to a good therapist and keeping a diary will help him treat you. He'll know how you've been feeling before you saw him. so that's a good idea.
I hope you have insurance that will cover it because you really should see a therapist. I wish you the very best. Please take care and let us know how you do. God bless and take care. Hugs, Lee ![]()

I have always found that keeping a diary or writing things down helps. It's good to just get some thoughts outside of yourself.
My therapist also told me that there have been studies that have found that an increase in Vitamin D can help with symptoms of depression, so going outside for 30mins a day couldn't hurt ![]() |

Hi Silence85,
We're here for you - keep us updated, will you? What's working, what's not, how you're feeling...whatever. I'm in a similar state as you, been very depressed for months and stay in bed a lot. I would recommend going outside, yes. I'm not the best person to take advice from in that it hasn't "worked" to make me feel better, but I know it's the right thing to do. Even though it hasn't "cured" me, I'm glad that I'm doing it. Even though I'm really down, I do feel it's important to keep this machine going. Not sure if that's helpful at all, but that's what I've got for you this morning! xxx Grace |

Yes, vitamin D3 is good, so are the fatty acids (particularly Nordic Omega 3's, although there are many different ones available), vitamin C, the whole series of Vitamin B is very boosting for the nervous system. In fact, I would recommend a pharmaceutical quality multivitamin once daily.
It would be very helpful for you to see a psychiatrist just to determine if you have a chemical imbalance that needs to be stabilized. Being medicated for it--if it is there--could turn things around for you very quickly. I agree that a psychiatrist could be of real help and you might wish to see one as soon as possible. |

Going outside and keeping a journal will both help. They helped me. Fresh air is beneficial and so is pouring your thoughts out on paper. You'll find it's very cathartic.

No, neither of those things is going to magically make it better, but it could help a bit. I've found that keeping a diary helps me to organize my thoughts and just write them down, so that they're not only in my head, you know?
