I'm really getting tired of this. I just seem to be nauseated all the time. It makes it so hard to do anything. I don't see my psych doc for about a month. If this keeps up I'll have to call him. I know we don't want to change my drugs, because as you all know it can take a long time to get the right drugs in the right quantity to get depression and anxiety under control, but feeling too sick to do anything isn't good either.
And I'm in a lot of pain with my back. Am getting an X-ray tomorrow. My Nurse Practitioner says she can't suggest anything other than Tylenol for it and it just doesn't give me any relieve. When I get, if I get a definite diagnosis I'll ask my psych doc what he suggests. He understands my meds better than my Nurse Practitioner. ![]() |

Hello Jean, Soory to hear you are so ill, But it probably is the anti depressant tabs making you so sick. I'm on my second anti depressant simply because the pdoc kept telling me Oh Yes i takes time for them to work. Eventually after about 8 weeks on the meds they had no effect on me. So I would urge you to call him. and as you know you are back to square one, but in saying that i can see a difference, hang on in there. Best wishes to you and I hope everything works out for you.

Hi Jean,
I was also in a similar situation - I was on one antidepressant, and the dr. told me it would take 6-8 weeks to take effect. I really wanted to wait it out because I desperately wanted something to work. And thought if I ask to switch, every time that I switch there's another waiting period, and chance of it not working. I felt nauseous and lightheaded, and it was really hard to deal with. I never felt any positive effect. I asked to switch a few weeks ago, and have switched. Now I'm waiting for this one to have an effect, but not experiencing any side effects anymore was such a relief. The doctor's are used to drug changes, and you should be comfortable calling and asking questions about what you're experiencing anytime, so don't be shy - just call! Hope you are feeling better soon, and good luck w/ the x-ray. Grace |

Personally, I wouldn't put up with those kinds of side effects. Speaking from experience, I have tried so many different antidepressants, you have to be willing try different things. You should listen to your body. I would imagine that your psych meds doc would want you to get off of them if its making you feel sick. But Im not a doctor, and its best to seek professional advice. I also can empathize with you, being depressed and in other physical pain can be awful, they kind of feed off of eachother, if youre in pain it makes you sad, but then you can be sad because of the pain, overall just frustrated. I had a really painful case of endometriosis that went undiagnosed for a long time. Taking the pain meds can only do so much, so I encourage you to stick with getting your xray checked and see where to go from there. Pain meds just mask the real problem. Feel better, Hugs, Lisa
