Hi everyone,
wondering what your experience is and what you can suggestion. I'm not having panic attacks, but does anyone get really panicky on top of their depression? I've been thoroughly depressed, day-in-day-out for months. Just in the past week I've started to feel really panicky, very tight in the chest most of the time, and panicky that this will never end. It's terrible. Thanks for your help Grace |

Here's where I am:
As you are feeling tightness in the chest, please try to talk to a doctor as soon as practical - or sooner - about what you are experiencing.

Thanks for answering Rohag. I don't have access to counselling / medical services which I know is hard to believe. But for now I have to accept that as an unemployed, uninsured person without savings.
I'm not in any daily sort of stressful situations, and have very good physical health luckily. Thanks |

I have depression, but also have been dx'd with Generalized Anxiety Disorder. I am always, just generally, anxious and panicky. I do have panic attacks sometimes, but they are usually more related to being triggered, not just for an unknown reason.
Some things that I've found that can help and that my T has suggested have actually really helped me: If you're one who feels the need to keep busy or keep your hands moving, you can mold clay over and over again in your hands or to do all of that and to help relax you, you could color, my T and I really like the mandalas and you can get free print offs here: Free Mandala Coloring Pages (Printable). Guided Imagery has worked well to try to keep me calm, especially when I have the time to really listen and act through the meditation. Here is a site where they have several free guided meditations for different issues: https://healthy.kaiserpermanente.org...n-s7D8AN76O4U/. The one I find the most helpful is the 'panic attacks and anxiety' one. If you're wanting to stay natural, you can always try Lavender - candles, essential oils, etc. Lavender is known to have a calming effect. I apply Lavender Oil to my wrists, behind my ears, and on my temples each morning. I know that you said you don't have medical/psych services available to you, but I hope that something comes up soon and that you'll find a way to see someone...even if it's just for a check up. Hopefully some of these work for you or you're up for trying them! Best wishes! |

Hi Grace
I was diagnosed with major depressive disorder, and I have terrible anxiety. I had an anxiety attack yesterday that ended with me calling my psyche clinic's crisis line. I don't know that it's necessarily a package deal, but the folks I know that have depression also have anxiety. I hope that it's some comfort... ![]() woundedhealer7 Sent from my GS3. |
