Feel anxiety building. What's wrong? Yesterday was a good day. Not nauseated. By evening I was having that choking feeling and it was with me as soon as I woke up. I just feel like crying, but no tears come. The anguish and despair is all building up inside. I want help, relieve, but I don't know exactly what it is that I need because I don't know exactly what is wrong. What a demon this mental illness is. Just when things seem to be okay another problem comes up. I just hate it. Why won't it leave me alone? If there was a Smilie for Despair I would put it here.

Hello Jean. I would visit your healthcare professional. Sometime a general practitioner will be able to refer you to a psychiatrist. Once there at the psychiatrist, describe your symptoms. Don't be too surprised if you are prescribed medication. Take the medication as directed.
As for why you, mother nature is fickle. I too suffer from a mental illness. It can be hell, but it can also be managed. I manage mine with medication, exercise, journaling, and visiting here at Psych Central. I am sure you can find a way to manage yours too. Good luck and hugs. ![]() |

I totally agree with this advice. Medication has bee wonderful for me. Plus my psychiatrist explained away so many of my symptoms as part of the disease---not me. Even my reasoning ability is impaired. Journaling also helped. If you can find someone to talk to that would be ideal. I haven't found anyone here for that. Just keep remembering that it is a chemical imbalance not your character.
Good luck |
