A couple of days ago I bought a workbook dealing with anxiety and depression. I have already worked through the first three chapters and have already found it helpful--but now I feel guilty because I really don't have the extra money to buy things like that, but I feel like I really need it.

The nature of our illness means we can do rational, needful things and still feel bad about how we acted.

May that workbook prove valuable far beyond its cost, Shortandcute.

I think it is great you have found something that helps short and cute. I know money is tight but if you think these books are really helping you, could you save up some money? I know that might be hard. Is there anything free online, like some worksheets or something that you could work through until you have more money?

I dunno, that's all I can think of, sorry I not much help.

Your status says: "At the library or in front of the computer". So maybe next time start by checking out if the library has resources, but if not, do no deny yourself helpful tools that cost a little money.

Tell yourself you are worth it, cause you are. You've done 3 chapters so not like you're not using it. The deed is done, you bought the book, it's past, try to focus on the now, I'm trying so very hard to do that these days.

If this workbook is a good thing. If you believe it is good, It will bless you.
You spent money on a good cause. You know that it is like a seed you have planted there that will grow into something marvellous. Just keep working on it.

I wonder if the workbook itself has advice on getting rid of feelings of guilt, which are so common in depression.
Thanks for this!
