recently i've been thinking a lot about posessions and how little in this world i can call " my own"

it just brings me down all the more

not sure what started these thoughts off or even how to stop them

Shattered Sanity, Are you talking about material "posessions". we came in with nothing and go out the same way. If you really look at it we own nothing. A house you might "own" until you die, so, for me I think we are only caretakers of posessions. Best wishes.

These thoughts may stem from another thing altogether. Are you seeing a professional? It sounds like depression is getting the best of you right now. So many negative things can come up as a result of depression. We obsess on those things that we are most concerned with. If the depression were under control it would probably be easier to deal with. My depression presents as paranoia about the future and rejection and shame. But the root cause is depression. Can you see someone and get help? Try that and see if it doesn't help.
Keep posting and let us know how you are.

Well... I don't think there's anything wrong with thinking those thoughts. Because they're true, you know. We don't really "own" anything except ourselves.
