so, nothing particulary bad is in my life right now. I just feel that small presence of depression over me- I can and have never been entirely happy. Is this normal? How can I have everything I need and still feel depressed sometimes? And I did say need not want. I have everything I need, not everything I want but, I feel blessed with a roof over my head, food, clothes, a supportive family, and I will graduate in December.... However, I am about to turn 24 and the only experiences I have had with men have been abusive. I have never been in a relationship- these were just faulty experiences with people who mistreated me that I have forgiven. I am just feeling sad single because I just want a happy memory with a guy to replace all the bad ones? I want to know that I am more than abuse. Is that enough to make you depressed?

I would think having just abusive relationships could make someone a bit depressed. Have you talked to a counselor about that? I certainly think there's hope that you can have some healthier ones in the future. Maybe if you hang on to that thought, then you can start feeling better.

I could see how a lack of healthy releationships can lead you to having some depression. I'm sorry you had to date so many jerks. Hopefully you can find a guy that treats you good and makes you feel loved and cared for.

I agree with Payne ~ a talk with a therapist might also discover WHY the only relationships you've had HAVE been abusive.
Sometimes people tend to choose the "bad guys" instead of the good guys. Without knowing it, they find them more exciting. The good guys seem boring so we aren't attracted to them. Consequently we end up with the abusive jerks, and we don't know why. ![]() Actually the good guys aren't as boring as we think! They just don't act it out in public and/or are more of a gentleman when out. Perhaps talking with a therapist will help cause I could be all wet, too! ![]() I wish you the very best Jazzy. Please take care and God bless. And let us know how things work out, okay? Hugs, Lee ![]()
