I do not know why, but I can not shake the fear of being a failure in my classes this semster..
i did not do well on any of the frist test that i have taked this week and last week.
I got them all back as of yerstdday and I did not do as well as I should have..

this is the second set back.
I am just so worthless or I feel that way..
Why..
I was doing so well, now all of this and I just want to quit..

I know I am winnng but I have no where else to turn.. you are all so understanding, but for some odd reason i am really scared about what to do.. Should I drop this semster and try it again in the fall, or should I try to stick it out since thye are only one test ???

Deperssion is really startign to bring me down.. and I do not understand why this time..

LD I hope you will feel better and more confident after meeting with your professor this afternoon.

I wanted to reiterate yesterday that I think you are handling this so well... expressing your fear here amongst your friends and still taking a proactive approach at school by seeing your professor to see how you can improve. You are acknowledging your fear but not letting it stop you, and taking active steps to improve the situation. I can't think of a better plan for success!

I don't know that I can say anything to take your fear away but please don't quit. I and others have a lot of faith in your abilities. Try not to let the fear overwhelm you. To answer your question directly I think yes, you should stick it out, it's still early in the semester and so you are still just working into the "groove" of the classes. There is very good reason to think that once you get more comfortable in the classes, and hopefully the professor can give you some tips and confidence, that things will improve as long as you don't let the fear hold you back.

But remember that this is your decision. If there comes a point down the road where you really want to change your plans, you always have that option! I am hoping you decide to stick with it, continue to talk to your teachers for advice, and continue to post here for "moral support". If we can help calm your fears then that will only improve your results on the next test.

Good luck and keep us posted! And continue to share here for support!

It really is your decision. What would you feel better about? Dropping this semester and trying again later, or sticking it out and trying for the best? I believe that you can do it though. So maybe you had a bad week. Does winter get to you? I think I have mentioned to you before that I always had lower grades on everything in winter. If that might be the case for you, remember that winter is almost over now. Maybe looking forward to spring will help you. Whatever you decide to do is okay.

I am not sure if it is the winter season or not..
I do feel better after talking to my teacher today and he told me he has faith in me to pass the class ..

He said really good things about my notes and my notecards for his class.. So that did riase my spirts a whole lot..
and he said he has more faith in me than I give myself credit for..

Hi Lady Dragus,

Are there other options, too - could you join a study group, or see a tutor, if you're concerned? Sometimes there are additional options like that. Getting help is not a weakness. It's just doing what needs to be done to get the grades you want...pass the course....go on to the next level and such. Sometimes doing extra-credit work is a possibility too, but not always.

Take care,
ErinBear

You remember when I failed a lot of my test and you kept my spirits up, I remember very well. I will do the same, though I am not with you in school this semester, I am with you in your heart, that will never change. This is just one test, one set back for you in school. Though it does not make you feel good about yourself, it does give you the encouragement to try harder on the next one. You can't let yourself get down, you are so smart and you can do it, I know you can. You have to believe that in order to accomplish anything. I gave you the strength to write poetry and you didn't think you were very good and you are. You have to believe in your self sweetie, that is all I can tell you. Believe in yourself! I can not shake it this time...

Hugs and Kisses to you,
