So my pdoc was getting on me for not seeing things in a positive light. I get her point, but hello, I'm DEPRESSED, that's why you're treating me, right?

was she mad at you for not being able to see things, or was she gently nudging you? guess she was trying out positive psychology on you.. like to make you see things so as to lift your depression bit by bit.

my pdoc does that to me too, but in a gentle way. but if your pdoc was mad at you then thats truly wrong...

Hmm, you make a good point. I don't think she was mad, now that you mention it, I think she was making a strong point that I should see the positive. So...I guess she was just doing her job.

NJ, I just posted a response to a member of this forum who was feeling depressed after
the day's work, too. Look at that one for some ideas about how to get rid of the negative
things each day so that you are able to think positive thoughts.

It can be done and it's such a relief to be able to release negativity. In fact, negativity
is a loading for depression, so it's very important to keep it in subjection to our daily
thinking.

Go down the threads on this forum 'til you see "Need a Boost" by Heather. That may
have a couple of ideas on how to remove negative thinking. Psychiatrists need also
to tell people how to correct negative thinking, not just point it out to patients with
no directions on how to stop it.

Take care.
Thanks for this!
