I'm sorry that it touched a nerve. There is nothing wrong with leaving if something is getting to you. We all have our breaking points. Its good that you had your husband with you.

That's right! It's a support group. If you get triggered, it's time to step outside, leave, or not attend that night if you know the topic ahead of time.

Suicide is serious topic, and I'm sorry it upset you so badly ...

September is suicide prevention month and since a lot of us struggling with depression have thoughts about it maybe the group thought it would be good to talk about it in an effort to help those who may be considering it, and as upsetting as the discussion may have been, silence is deadly for those who need to talk about it but feel they can't.

I hope you were able to express to the group how and why it was upsetting you.

If not, perhaps you can bring it up next week?

- For you & your group!

In some cases in a peer run group the leaders have been told in their training class not to turn away from 'hot potatos' subjects such as this, but not everyone can handle the situation as well as others. That's if it was brought up by a group member as a personal subject. Not sure if this is what happened. Definitely if subjects are upsetting you are within your rights to leave, I have done so, on occasion.

You're welcome ...

I'm glad those who had tried were at group instead of in the ground.

I've been to that door a time or two myself.

So glad I didn't walk through it.

I like to tell people that are seriously mulling it over that if they do there will be a hole in the universe where they're supposed to be and that will be a sad thing.

Another to keep you well.
