Hi all,
I've my whole life gone in and out of depression but 2 years ago was bullied a lot by other adults, and had a lot of stress going on especially with noisy neighbors and their 3 day long parties with shouting all day. I couldn't think straight and had no quiet time.

Those things passed but my brilliant as in great memory is gone.. my short term memory is getting better but I can't remember anything of my life, my past is like still blurry images.
I'm not on any medications.
This has been a problem for 2 years.. Will my memory come back?

I think things.. then they're gone.
I have dreams and then they're gone.. instantly! Nightmares are blankness in my memory.
I'll remember something, then forget what it was instantly! I'm surprised I remembered my password for this site after so long.

I can somewhat relate to this.... my memory is a joke when I am in "my darkness". Depression consumes me to the point I can not talk to people in an intelligent fashion, or even read the paper because as I start reading the second paragraph I will already have lost track of what the first paragraph said.

I recent saw a neuro-pysch doctor for testing. It was kinda brutal, literally made me break down in tears a few times and I could not wait for it to end so I could go cut (I self harm too)....... BUT - he said my brain is functioning fine, all my memory issues are simply depression related.

So I would say two things to you.... If you are truly worried - go to a neuropych and be tested. They can tell you point-blank if your brain (or more accurately EACH part of your brain) is functioning okay.
And make sure you are doing your meds or seeing a shrink or whatever helps move you out of your depression...

Good luck

The memory will improve/come back once you are medicated right.

I completely understand. I don't remember most of my childhood, or most important recent events (like vacations). I try to stay positive, and tell myself its always better to live in the "now" anyways!
Lots of love to you though, Jenina!

Somewhat the same for me. I'd suggest confirming it's not a physical problem, by seeing a doctor.
