Bored again.

Today was %#@&#!, and i did nothing.

Just ate, put some band-aids on, slept, had coffee and stuffed around on the net.

My life is so empty.

I have no-one i want to do things with, who understands me, who has things in common.

I don't even like reading.

I have nothing to do.

Help!!

I hope you can find something that perks your interest & ignites some passion in your life. Not enjoying anything can be a sign of depression. Are you seeing a doc to perhaps help you with this? I found medication & therapy greatly increased my enjoyment of life. Take care.--Suzy

Your boredom lament reminds me of Naikan therapy:

Sometimes I don't have the attention span or will to read and I feel just like you are. More often than not (and this is not pleasurable for me, I do it because I can) ... I clean. Organize. Its tedious, and can be boring but at least you're doing something you can be proud of.

I also go outside, sitting outside, doing some sort of physical activity (light physical activity... like going for a walk) can make me feel better.

Hope this mood passes by you soon. PM me if you ever want to.

IMO boredom is a good sign for you! People who are deep in depression do not become bored, imo. Perhaps you are beginning to heal, and aren't quite up to doing anything but are beginning to want to?

Force yourself to do something each day... if you can find someplace to volunteer, do that! Helping others is great mood lifter. We can always find someone who is in a worse place than we are.

Make a list of things you want to do..now and in the future. What things do you need to do or learn to get them done?

Find something to do. What do you think you would want to do?

Perhaps you are right, perhaps i am coming out of depression.

I do want to do things, but when i search my mind, all i want to do is sit on the internet and talk to people. Maybe i should just let myself do this until i move on?

I have thought about doing volunteer work, i guess it is just hard to get to these places because i don't drive...

Good idea, i will make a list of things i want to do now and in the future.

Thanks for your help and support!

Your doc may have to experiment to find the right meds that will work for you. It took me a long year to get on the right stuff for my bp. I was deeply depressed, but I never gave up hope that with the new medications available I could get help & get some good quality of life.--Suzy
