i feel so so weak, and i have discomfort and pain in all of my body... tomorrow my dosage will be upped to 15mg. hopefully i'm gonna start feeling something. it's still pretty early on. 9 days on the medication. 2 days 5mg 7 days 10mg. today and yesterday I felt a lot worse then ever before. I suppose this is normal.

what kind of physical symptoms do you guys get with your depression?
please help! for me it's physically debilitating. can't get out of bed, but even in bed i feel horrible.

i actually contemplated going to the hospital, to get everything checked out for the hundredth time. but I had blood tests like 1 and a half months ago and everything was fine, so there is no way, that this is not depression, but something else. Just the pain and exhaustion is so harsh, that I always put myself into this cycle of thinking that I have actually something else going on. did you guys ever had that?

Hi there. Oh my word, you are in a bad way aren't you. I am not taking the med you've mentioned, but I have over the last 33 years tried many many Psych meds with various side effects. I'm not medically trained, so can only speak as someone who's been '' experimented '' on for many years. On the whold most of the meds I've had prescribed were trial runners, experimental. I knew this and was happy for this to go ahead. Every med had some kind of side-effect, from mild to adverse and frightening. However, I felt it was well worth it if it would help just one more person, many did I add. I found mood stabilisers very helpful, in my case being Depokote and Quitiapine (Seroquel), these two I take to this day and they also help a great deaL with my sleep. I think that if a new med causes you horrible radical effects, you contact a Dr straight away, just to stay safe. Good luck and I hope you manage to find a med which is CORRECT for YOU! HUGS. XXXXX
Thanks for this!

Thank you so much for your help! I'm not sure if these are side effects, or depression, or both.. Or perhaps something else. I think I might be getting fed up with this and thats why i feel like everything is getting worse. Depression is serious enough, but I really hope I don't have anything else going on. What kind of physical symptoms do you guys get with depression? I'm curious. As for me it always shows itself as more of a physical condition than an emotional one

I've gotten pain with depression. I felt like I was coming down with the flu. Sometimes the general body aches would be excruciating. Painkillers of all sorts did not help. I also ran a low grade fever of 99 to 100 degrees F. This isn't a fever from a doctor's point of view, but it felt like hell.

I feel really weak. I tried to take a walk but it was really short, and felt really weak. Is physical weakness a side effect of starting lexapro, or is it the depression? Or something else? I'm worried. Should I go to the hospital to get myself checked out? It's my second day on 15mg. Yesterday was terrible, with lots of anxiety and overall sickness and weakness. And today I feel my body is very weak. I tend to have physical symptoms with depression so i'm not sure if it's the meds or not, but I'm starting to get worried. Do you guys feel general weakness when depressed?

Hey guys! It's been 2 and a half weeks on lexapro, and about 4 days on 20mg dose. I have no improvement in my symptoms, and it has only gotten worse so far. But I kind of consider that to be because of the depression itself, not because the lexapro/cipralex. Any of you have any experience with this med, please share!!! i've read numerous forums and found lot of material where they say one should give it a lot more time. And since I have been on one ssri so far (paxil) and it took about 2 months for it to work, I think I might have to stick it out and be patient. My doc said we gonna wait 6 weeks to see how everything goes. Thanks for reading!

yeah cipralex is both for GAD and major depression. well my depression is as major as it can be. leaving the house is totally impossible now. hope it kicks in sooner than later. thanks for your input

i was able to get out of my apartment for a short walk, and I felt good. But now I crashed again, in exhaustion. my energy levels are really really low, but I'm happy, that I was able to go out for a short walk. I'm so desperate to get better, I hope I will soon find relief! it's been about 3 weeks now on lexapro, and about 6 days on the 20mg dosage. Root for me! I'm stuck in my bed, and I wanna get out to live!
