One of my teachers has been using my little sister and me and I feel so hurt by it. We were friends at first before she was even our teacher. Any way last night she asked my sister and me to take her home because she had left her keys in her friends car so we did. We took her home because we were being nice. When we got there she asked us to stay for some tea and we thought that was a good idea. Any way, she got a book out and started reading stuff about shingles and how dangerous it is. She really got my sister and me worked up over it.

Then right before we left her house she relized that she had overbooked her schedule for today. She forgot that she had a class to teach and she volunteered to help make some frybread for the taco sale that Native Ways club put on today. So she asked my sister and me to teach her class while she went to help with the frybread. We just told her we would talk it over.

My sister and I felt that she shouldn't have been asking us to do this so we ended up skipping out on class today. I went and told my therapist about what has been going on and she thought that my sister and I did the right thing by not going to class this morning.

I feel bad for missing class because I know that my teacher is going to be angry with us for not showing up. I really hope that I did the right thing. I just feel so down and stressed out today. I'm not sure if I want to go to my other classes today or not either. I just feel so down. Did I do the right thing?

I believe that you did the right thing. It is not right for her to put her responsibilities on you and your sister... and when she gets angr about it maybe you guys can just explain how you guys felt about what had happened. Can I ask a question though... what about the shingles thing got you all upset??

The way my teacher kept saying how angry she was with the college for not getting some sanitizer for the mats we use in class. Not only that she keeps bringing it up. It's getting old to listen to it every day. It's not that I am upset over the whole shingles thing it's that she had kind of made my sister and me frightened because of it instead of just informing us about it she went too far with it. I am so stressed

You didn't commit to helping her, so I don't feel you were obligated to show up. She does her own schedule, its not your fault or responsibility to take up her slack when she overbooks. Maybe she will pay more attention now? (but then I get called b!tch, so maybe listen to someone nicer I am so stressed)

Just my take!

ps--good frybread makes the world go 'round I am so stressed I am so stressed

Ok i talked with my teacher and she is still wanting me to do all these extra things. I thought that by telling her that I didn't want to be a TA any more that she would accept that but she's not. She wants me to work on all this extra stuff during her class time. I just want to scream!!!!!
