Im not doing well at all today, all day the question has been in my mind"why am i still here?"i dont really want to be,but i know that my family and friends would be devastated if i was to not be here anymore.I am so unhappy with my life, but last week i was fine and hopefull,im upa nd down like a yoyo, one minute im happy and the next im wondering how many pills we have in the house i just dont know whats going on with my mind anymore,i used to think it was because i was drunk but these thoughts are here all the time now.I took the bipolar tast and scored 35 so im wondering if the citalopram im on is possibly the wrong medication, someone please shed some light and give me some advise.Im a big strong man but i feel like a sad small child.

Let the doc who prescribes that know about the mood swings. If you have bipolar then they use more than just an antidepressant. I'm the same way, I'm up and down several times a day sometimes. It stinks, but I keep hoping we can find the right meds. Let the doc in on the mood changes and your questions.
Take care!

Hello I hope you are doing better at this time. Sometimes if you are bipolar when Winter comes you have to have medications changed because you do not get enough sunlight to manage the seratonin correctly for the brain, and you can get an imbalance. There are lights on the market that are helpful for the lack of sunlight, but you probably need the medication adjusted, to balance out the imbalance of not getting enough sunlight, and the seratonin imbalance. You are not alone I had to have an adjustment as well ahen the weather changed and I feel a lot better at this time. What you are going through can be better if you get your medication adjusted. Take care Soidhonia.

I agree with the others. Talk to your doc about what's happening and maybe he can find a better set up for you.

Good Luck
