Hi, my name is Cindy and I am new to this forum. I have had depression for more than 40 years, although it is pretty well controlled now through meds and therapy. But believe me, I have been there with the pain.
My question is, I have been reading about people with depression having low levels of zinc in their bloodstreams. I wonder if anyone has tried zinc supplements for their depression, and what the results are. |

Zinc can also help your antidepressants work a bit better, check with your pdoc before you start any suppliments.
For me, zinc suppliments caused me to get very nauseous and start vomiting. I was in hospital when I started them luckily and was able to get maxalon to stop the spewing. I have reacted this way to other vitamin and mineral suppliments before so I dont think this is an issue for most people. Its certainly worth a try! |
