Phew.... lots of things have been happening!

Pdoc got me soooooooooo upset 2 Fridays ago for refusing to see me after being late for 10 minutes. I was so livid that I finally was able to relax and got rid of a lot of pent up feelings. It has been close to 2 weeks and have not fallen into depression.

Told doc about all this and he said I had a cathartic event. Apparently... I needed to be pissed off to break the depression.

He told me that I need to work on addressing and expressing my anger and frustration because I've been turning anger inward - which in turn caused my depression. It is the oldest condition in the book. Gosh... I have never realized this.

The whole psychiatric experience has been very interesting and probably would never go through that again. However, if I hadn't I'd probably still be very depressed.

What an irony!

Huh - now that is kind of interesting!

*Hugs* Thanks for the info, always like learning stuff.

And I'm very glad you're feeling better too.

I'm sure you pdoc can help you further on this Catharsis

Catharsis is usally geared around a particular event or problem, I think, so the problem that was making you more and more depressed (currently) was with the PDoc??

Acting out and blowing off steam might be good for a time or two, far apart, but yes, learning how to deal with stress and things that go bump in the night is the best! Learning to not accept responsibility for things out of your own control will help eliminate your internal anger, and yes, thus reduce your depression. TC!

Not seeing Mr. Pdoc anymore since I'm stopping meds. I don't want to be medicated and not really think there's a need now that depression has gone away.

I do want to do therapy & he suggested CAT but he said not that popular. So he will try to find one for me.

I hope you will be able to stop your meds without any problems.
Boy, pdoc doesn't have much sympathy for people does he, or he would have understood more.
I hope the therapy will be the right fix for you.
Good Luck!
Take care,
Linda
