my guess is you would so greatly upset such a large population of kids that at least one other person may attempt because of you. Thus you would kind of be responsible for their death.

They would probably bring in conselors to help deal with the students or teachers that have trouble accepting it. It would leave a traumatic effect on them all.

I have had 2 people close to me (grandfather and god-sister) commit suicide. I was still in elemenatry school the first time and high school the next.
Typically, the school meets with the families directly affected to discuss how they wish to handle it. The students are assembled in mass to address the "situation." Counseling is offered for any students that want to talk. Peer support groups set meetings for after school or during a certain study period. These can include people close to the deceased or people who have been effected by similar situations. MOST schools are now conscientious enough to do this when.. say a sibling of the deceased... is not in attendance. Other wise, the surviving member of the family is made into a specticle, but it is offered that they can be there at the announcement, if they wish to do so. It depends on the size and closeness of the "community" or envirnoment, on which method they choose to handle it. However, no matter what, it is traumatic and leaves a lasting impact upon the survivors left behind... i.e. phobias, PTSD, greiving, substance abuse issues, etc. |
