So I need ideas. I've been in this town a month. I have no T. I can't see a new pdoc till Jan. 3. I am at a point where I really probably should be hospitalized, but I have no time off on this brand-new job where nobody knows about my mental health stuff to begin with. (I'm not suicidal, but definitely a major danger to myself in other ways.)

I have no idea what to do next. Somebody do the thinking for me, please? My badly twisted brain isn't working right (or as right as it ever gets).

Call someone! Keep yourself out of the bottom of the pit if you can. http://suicidehotlines.com/wisconsin.html Spend your "free time" talking on hotlines and talking and talking. That's a master listing of all hotlines in WI I think... not just for "suicide."

You are triggered by the anniversary, imo. You can't totally win over it, but don't let it win over you... it won't be this bad forever, it will break.

PTSD is doing this, this isn't you, and you don't need to react but to do more self care right now.

Look for free agencies like domestic violence, rape crisis centers, planned parenthood. they all have great therapy options that are open to the public (including walk ins as well as those that have appointments) and its free.

Many times when I have had to move from one town to another and or one state to another these agencies were a great help and they are always available because they are nationwide agencies.

Check in the front of your phone book too will give you many local community crisis hot lines and agencies that are also free and open to the public (walk in and for appointments)

Hang in there.

Hello I hope things get better for you soon. DBSA and NAMI both have good support groups possibly in your area as well that you may want to attend both groups can be found on the internet. Can you call and get an emergency appointment to see the dr in your area. What about just a regular Dr to give you some medication until you get to see the psych Dr in January if necessary. a regular Dr can give yousomething until then if needed if the Psych Dr can not see you until January. take care sincerely Soidhonia

You at least have good insight into your mental state so you can take the steps the other posters mentioned. Get in touch with help ASAP. You don't need to struggle alone. Take care & let us know how you are faring.--Suzy

You could go to a drop-in counselling centre - or even call the distress centre and ask about places you can go in for counselling.
