So I took double my dose of Ambien because I haven't slept good in a week. Thinking it would work faster and better. I was talking to my friend via facebook before I took my meds and about 30mins after I lost memory and woke up this morning to a huge amount of messages I apparently sended to my friend. She played along thinking I was messing with her, but I really don't remember sending any of those messages. I woke this morning and she calls me and asks if I remember what we talked about. I said I did up to a point. She tells me to go back and read them...I was mortified, embarrassed and felt like a complete dumb butt. So now ive been depressed all day thinking about what happened. My friend thought it was the funniest thing and she said she hoped it happens again tonight.

There are other bizarre side effects too. You posted a message on here too.

I can completely understand why this is so upsetting. I would be upset, too.

IMHO, I think the only important things that you should focus on right now... is that it was one night, you are okay, and there was no damage done that can't be undone.

I know you feel badly, but try not to dwell too much. Just as you said, it has known side effects. It wasn't your fault. Try to take it in stride, and accept that it was a learning experience.

Not that you need me to state the obvious, but... from now on, maybe be more cautious with your Rx drugs, and consider switching to something that has less severe side effects.

But then I have taken three of them before throughout the night just to get to sleep. I was having severe anxiety at the time though. I didn't have any wierd side effects with it. Then Lunesta didn't do a thing for me. Now I use Remeron. It's an ad but works great for sleep.

It really wasn't that bad. I was a little worried for you, but I couldn't understand more than the title really. Please, don't use it as an excuse to beat yourself up more.

I'm not sure it's healthy to keep delving deeper, but I'm putting up the link for you, because if it was me, I would want to know everything I possibly could that I forgot.

Don't worry about it.....
Ambien is like that, unfortunately....I used to take it, but I would make sure that I was in bed with no laptop or phone near me...So I suggest that. It hits hard and fast.

It really only happens if you try to stay awake, which is clearly what you were doing.

When I said "don't worry about it" it was in reference to your embarrassment.....Sorry if you misunderstood.

Yes, I only ever took the recommended dose....sometimes only half.
