it seems like as soon as I feel better I don't think I need to stay on top of it any more, like I don't want to exercise and I don't think it's that important to eat right, and stay up too late, etc. then I start to go downhill again. lately I have been repeating this pattern over and over. does anybody have a good way around this? It's almost like I forget how miserable it can be which doesn't make any sense.

If those things are helping you then I would keep doing them. I can hardly do any of those and I think it makes my depression worse. I'm glad you've found a way to feel better. I go to therapy, dbt therapy and see my pdoc and that's as far as u get to taking care of my mental health. I know I need to exercise but I can't seem to motivate myself into doing it. So I'd keep doing what yr doing! I know that it helps. I don't really know how to get around it other than going to therapy. That's really important part of treatment too. Sorry I not of much help.

I feel the same way. Therapy is the key. Now I can't even exercise because I injured my toe and it hurts to wear sneakers which sucks. Its good you found a way to come out of the depression.
My therapist always tells me to write things down and make an outline. Like for your sleeping, your eating and your exercise. And try to stick to a schedule you wrote down. Hope that helps, Good Luck!
