Second night shift decided I needed to at least talk to my supervisor about what's going on. Of course I completely have a breakdown and cry and panic. So she isn't mad or anything and said short term leave happens at our work from depression it isn't uncommon. Ok so at least I know I'm not getting fired. She wants me to get into a psych before next Tuesday but I doubt anyone can get me in. Until then it depends on that when I go back to work. But I'm by getting penalized. It shouldn't be this hard to get a psych appt.

It sounds like you have an understanding boss, which is nice to have. Maybe your supervisor could be one of your support people in the future. I hope things work out for you.
Sending hugs your way. |

It is crazy how long it takes to get in to see a pdoc.
At least your boss is understanding. My last company was understanding and sympathetic but after missing a certain amount of time they fired me. Their hand was really forced due to the pressure on that job and i don't really blame them. they had to replace me. huge pressure to meet deadlines.

Hi madnessreturns, good on you for telling your manager about how you're feeling. At least it makes it clear that if you're struggling in your job it's not for lack of trying or that you don't really care about it, it's not about you it's about the depression.
And it sounds like you have a supportive boss there as well for when you are ready to return. As for getting a psych appointment well as long as you can explain to your boss the soonest they can see you is.............hopefully that will cover it?? With the time off till then though, I'd say that you can probably do with a bit of a break, considering the way you've been feeling, right??? It's feeling like you're on complete overload at the minute with trying to hold so much together.........and the longer that goes on............. Alison ![]() |

Thanks everyone for all the supportive comments. I'm off work until next Tuesday when my PDoc appointment is. I have enough sick time accumulated I can use it before having to start taking short term disability. I started Fetzima today because Prozac wasn't cutting it. We will see how this goes.
