I've only been here for a few days. I knew that depression was a big problem, but I guess I didn't realize how big.
Reading through some of the posts here, most of them are SO sad! I don't know if they help, to read them, or not.
I guess it's good to know that I'm not alone.

I've had so many changes in my life the last few years, it's no wonder I'm depressed. I divorced, moved half way across the country, left behind all my friends, started a new job, etc., etc.....

I'm a small-town girl, now thrust into life in the big city. I feel like a fish out of water here. No friends.... everything I was familiar with is gone, wiped clean.

I hide in my apartment isolating myself. It's the only place I feel comfortable, safe. I go to work, because I HAVE to.

Life shouldn't be this hard!

I've lived in the country and and the city and you are right it just feels different. Sounds like you have had a lot of stress in your life lately. Have you been to see a doctor? It might be a good step in feeling better.

The good thing about Pysch Central is it's easy to make friends and there is always someone here to listen.

Have you considered a pet? Or does you apartment not allow pets? They sure help out with loniness.

Hope you feel better soon.

Welcome! You know, I sometimes am too overwhelmed to come here and read, but when I do, I almost always find something that's helpful to me. And sometimes just knowing that other people struggle like I do, is helpful.

Thank you gaylegg. I do have a pet, my cat, Otis. He's sweet but not much on conversation.

I have seen a Dr. and am on meds, but my insurance won't cover therapy.
