I enjoyed Mothers Day tremendously! My daughter (22) and I went out for dinner. I had one glass of wine and somehow I felt depressed the next day and today two days later. I take antidepressants and while I don't drink often I have noticed that I can have liquor without a negative reaction but not wine.

I do take antidepressants so I'm thinking the two together are just a bad mix.
Has anyone else experienced this?

Uh, yeah.

I've learned to lay of alcohol, even a bit. Finally realized that I went from feeling blue to almost suicidal when I had a drink.

Good for you to notice that it has that effect on you. But even if it doesn't have that effect on anyone else, if it does on you, that's all that matters.

And it doesn't even matter why. Just keep that connection in your head. "Gee, booze makes me feel bad".

I know for a fact that any kind of alcohol deepens my depressive state ... Also, I have a sensitivity to Sulfites which can enhance and cause a whole bunch of other not too fun problems should I consume too many foods and beverages containing it ... This might not be an issue for you, but I'm posting a link about it (symptoms & such) in case anyone is interested, and while this particular link doesn't mention the cause of (or enhancement of symptoms of) depression, there are some that do ...

Asthma and Sulfites Allergies: Symptoms and Treatments

Hope You Feel Better Soon! ... In as much as you can while battling depression! ... I know it isn't easy when that dark cloud is hanging over our heads!
