My depression is mainly brought on by my other symptoms of schizophrenia the voices are always downgrading me and making me feel very bad about myself. I often get depressed and very closed off due to this.I was diagnosed with Depression and schizophrenia when I was 14. I have been suffering with it since the age of 12 though.
I decided I need to get my life back on track so I joined this website recently as a means of a support group because I am far too shy in person to talk about my problems in a group of other people. I find it much easier to talk online. |

Hi, LemonFresh! Welcome to the Depression forum. I hadn't thought about it before, but depression leads people to think negatively anyway. And that problem would be made worse by someone who hears critical voices.
And people can get depressed just by hearing voices, critical or not. But I'm sure critical voices could cause worse depression. ![]() Have you checked out the Schizophrenia forum, by any chance? Perhaps they might be able to talk about depression and critical voices. I am also wondering if you have you talked to your psychiatrist and/or therapist about the depression and have been receiving any help for it. We are glad you are feeling comfortable talking online. And I am glad we can be here for you. ![]() |
