I was wondering if anybody would have any knowledge on this subject. I just applied for a new job online. They say that they do a criminal background check which doesn't worry me I have nothing drastic to hide there. But they also say they do a drug screen. I am on citalopram for my depression, and I was going to restart the buspirone my medical doc prescribed for anxiety. Both of these medications are prescribed by my medical doctor. I don't smoke weed, take narcotics, or any of that stuff. I have an occasional alcoholic beverage. Do ya'll think I would have a problem with my depression meds? If I stop taking them I am afraid I will go off the deep end, which I'm not far from anyway. Just looking for input. Thanks

Don't go off of them!!! I have numerous drug tests and antidepressants don't show up. Only benzos and opiates. Even then if you have legit script no problem.

Thank you. That's what I was thinking. I am hoping if I get a different job, that will help with some of this depression in and of itself.

This is a job of doing inventories for different businesses and companies. The only glitch is the hours may be kind of weird. You may have to go to work at 4:00AM, but you would get off at noon. It would be nice to have some weekday afternoons when I can get personal stuff done, like doctor appts. without having to take off work. I would be an inventory associate. Its sounds like meticulous work which is what appeals to me. Hope it works out.

Drug tests screen for specific drugs, there'd be no reason that they'd be testing for anti-depressants. Besides, anything you have a valid script for is fine.

I work for a very strict company and it didnt matter on the depression medications. If something comes up you can show your prescriptions or they'll call your doctor if given permission.
