I think that when we first wake up, there's an uncertainty of the future or a fear of the unknown, of what might or might not happen. Then, the fear turns into depression, because maybe it's easier to give up than to feel that anxiety. Then, if there's something we have to do that day, things get better - we can't dwell if we have to hurry up and get ready to go somewhere where we are expected to be. Does this ring true to you? What are your thoughts during those 2 hours?
Thanks for this!

I am sorry to hear that you are struggling Nitro24.

I experience this too. I cannot seem to get myself to face the day. I often end up getting out of bed when I should be leaving for work. I've been trying to break the cycle but nothing seems to work. Things get better once I'm out of bed. I have been late to work a few time now. This has to stop!

I wish I had some advice for you. I just wanted to respond and let you know that you're not alone. I wish you the best.

Thank you Terabithia for your insight. That definitely rings true for me.

Does anyone have any tips or tricks for getting out if bed and facing the day?

I actually enjoy my job. Thanks for you input but it's unfortunately not that simple. I hope things go better for you soon.

It happens to me sometimes. Seems to be when I am not good depression wise and I know I have things coming up I have to do. I wake up at night worrying about them. Much much worse very early in the morning. Then I wake up at 7 and my body wants to get up but my mind wants to stay in bed. If I stay in bed and try to sleep it makes things worse. I get in this kind of surrealistic state. If I get up and wake up and have some coffee it seems to ground me in the here and now. This only happens when there are things I have to do that I am not feeling confident about. Anxiety. Depression robs me of confidence. I guess it happens too when I am very severely depressed for no rational reason sometimes.
