It's to be the weekend. I should be out enjoying the weather. I just want to curl up into a ball and wait for the world to end. Damnit where is my ability to rationally think myself out of these situations?

Hi Huxley, sometimes feelings are feelings beyond any of the "rational" arguments they just are. So it's not a problem with your rational thinking, you can't always "logically" think yourself into being "happy".
But sometimes actions can help just a bit. So if you're not ready to "just get on out there into the world and soak it up" perhaps just try to let a little of the world come in to you. Even if you're only out there for half an hour, even if you're not exactly enjoying it it's a start, it really is something. Or if there's even just one little thing you can do out there this weekend, it's an achievement!!!
So no "beating yourself up" about what you "should" be doing, if you're feeling bad there's no "should" about it. It's just about doing what you can!!
And you know it might help to talk about things too. A little understanding and support, can't be a bad thing, right?
Just remember you're not alone in this, we're here for you and if you want to talk.....................

Well, feeling it's a requirement to be outside, just because the weather is nice, isn't conducive to overcoming this feeling.

Hi Huxley, they're not "stupid" if they're making you feel this way.......depression can make "little" things so much harder than they would have been without the depression. So not "stupid", just a little too much, right now with the way you're feeling. So if you can change them.......or distance yourself a bit more from them............
As for the things you know you have no control over. Firstly make sure you have no control over them, as depression can blind you to the control/options you do have. And then if you really have no control, then perhaps try to "let go" and focus more on the things you could have control over. I know all that is so much easier said than done!!
But hang with us, keep talking, keep sharing and hopefully we can help you make/see things a little better.
