Hi all, I am new and confused! Here's the story: I've had depression, anxiety and unjustified fears for 30 years now. Tried every AD on the planet and other treatments with no success. To cut story short, I stopped all meds one months ago cold turkey with NO side effects. The only substance I abused for that is sugar, simple candy. I was fine for one month and totally active. Now that I am trying to cut off on the sugar, I get all old symptoms back and worse.

Cannot explain, can anyone? Tx all

Hello & Welcome, Majed1962!

I am aware that some (many?) psychotropic medications have their own effects on blood glucose (example of a study from PubMed). It is not surprising that reducing sugar would have some sort of effect on symptoms and moods.

This is definitely something to discuss with a doctor if possible.

Again, welcome! Please make yourself at home.
